BIBLICAL BASICS THAT ENSURES AN OVERCOMING LIFE – Sermon Delivered by Dr Ademola Adedipe on 1st Aug 2010

Today's service went on wonderfully. It is the 1st day of the 8th month of 2010 and I'm really grateful to the Lord almighty for keeping me & my family this far. I hold to His unchangeable covenant of life.

I spoke at the service today and went about teaching.

There are certain basic things that we as God's children need to revisit if we hope to live a continuously victorious life.

1. We need to reset our minds to the reality that if any man is in Christ old things are passed away. We are no longer of this world thought we are in it - 2Cor 5:17. Many of us are quick to forget this reality. No wonder we exhibit the kind of lifestyle we are seen displaying

2. Present our body as a living Sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. This is our reasonable service (Worship). Also we should always remember not to be in conformity with the world. Rom12: 1-2. The worldly ways of doing things should not be our benchmark as children of God. There has to be a difference.

3. We need to live our lives with the full consciousness of total TRUST in the LORD Proverbs 3:5. Man is so used to believing in himself, we think we have arrived at a point in time that we now ascend to the level of becoming deified. We need not deceive ourselves; the Babel experience should still be fresh in our minds. Everything that man thinks he has and has achieved is as a result of the fact that we are a sub set of God. After all, he made us in His image and very likeness. Let us depend and maintain total trust in him.

4. Prayer is a form of address or communication with a deity and in this our case God almighty. This is a very powerful medium that God has given us. What most of us do is actually complaining and not really praying. Basic requirement of prayer is found in James 5:16b – The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. We need to know that if we regard iniquity in our heart, the Lord will not hear Psalm66:18. We also need to understand the leverage we have using prayer as a mighty spiritual warfare tool. We have the confidence that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us and that if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. However, one major thing we also need to consider as God’s children is that we pray to God and do not receive, not because God is relenting in His resolve towards us but because we ask with wrong motives James 4:3.

5. The word of God is another biblical basic that we need to revisit. We have today preacher that only project their own words and experiences during sermons. If we were to be looking for human words, the dictionary I think should be consulted, or newspapers and other media platforms. However, what we are talking about is not human words, not even that of the devil or this worldly system but the WORDS OF GOD.  God’s word is so powerful and precise; there is no singular or combined force anywhere that can match it. Ezekiel 12:25 puts it clearly that the word which God speaks will come to pass; it will no more be postponed. Heb 4:12 is also very clear about God’s Word - For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. This is powerful indeed.  Whenever we are confronted with issues, we are expected to speak the words of God.

A revelation came to me that when we speak the words of God in any situation, we become creators as in when we are confronted with sickness, we speak (create) healing, when confronted with poverty, we speak (create) prosperity etc. We are indeed the express image of God made after His likeness. Hallelujah!

6. Caring & Love is a biblical basic that cannot be overemphasized. It is very clear – by this all men will know that you are my disciples indeed, if you have love for one another. The level of love and caring in the early stages of the Church of the Living God was so much and I believe strongly that this accounted for the great impact they had within a short while. One of the most beautiful passages of the scripture is found in Acts 4:32 – 35 and it goes like this - All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. This is the epitome of love of caring. I really wish the Church of the Living God of these latter days can borrow a leaf from our predecessors.

In all we need the power of the Holy Spirit to be able to activate and maintain these biblical basics.

God bless you dearly

SEEDS OF GREATNESS – Sermon Delivered by Dr Ademola Adedipe on 28th Mar 2010

The plan of God by creation is that every person produces a life of health, wealth, happiness and joy. In order to ensure this, He planted seeds of greatness in every person that forms the platform for all these good things to manifest. From the very start of creation it was God's plan for people to enjoy life.

We all have these seeds of greatness. God did not create anybody without them. To be put in right perspective, God never creates junk! Whether we realize it directly or not, as long as we all have 24 hours in our day, breathe, live in the same planet earth, we all have and are living with seeds of greatness inside us.

For some the realization of these seeds of greatness is early in life, for some it is in mid life and others late in life. However, it is sad to note that so many live through life never realizing they had any seed of greatness. This is ultimately sad.

Once we realize our seed of greatness, it is left to the individual as a matter of choice, to either grow it up or just ignore the seed. It always boils down to this issue CHOICE.

Consider the following bullet points

  • Greatness is not the preserve of few individuals in life.
  • God intends all of us to live a fulfilled life
  • God is the giver of the seeds
  • Seeds come in many shapes and sizes
  • The type of seed determines the plant or tree to expect
  • Seed implies potentials in every individual
  • The type of soil in which seeds are planted matters a lot
  • It is not about your background, education, connection.
  • Our destinies are tied to it
  • The decision is yours for a seed to yield.
  • The greatness of a seed is in its planting in the right soil and being nurtured
  • Well cultivated seed of greatness has REAL LIFE IMPACT

Qualities of those with this seeds of greatness

  • Strong Desire for greatness
  • Determination
  • Discipline
  • Diligence

  • Lack of development
  • Self & sin
  • Life’s distractions

  • Discover this seed
  • Be content with the seed
  • Plant in the right soil
  • Nurture it & create right environment
  • Resist any hindrance
  • Don’t be limited by the world system

The seed of greatness in life is powerful, productive, and present in you!

  • God does not need your background to bring you to greatness.
  • Your dream is not dependent on other people.
  • God loves to take ordinary people and use them to do extraordinary things.
  • You have not seen your best days yet.

No matter where you are in life, no matter what environment you are in, no matter how impossible your dreams may seem. You need to know God already has a plan. He already has a way. If you will stay in faith, God will go outside the world system and take you places that you never thought possible!

You have a seed of greatness in you. Appointment with destiny is NOW.

The most expensive project ever. Spanning over 4000years. This ordinarily would not pop up in our minds but the reality is that the Redemption of Mankind is not just an anyhow or shabishly orchestrated project. It took God serious strategic directioning and well articulated plans.

For Planning: 4000 years +

For Exectution: 3 days

Feedback: 2000 years +

The activation of the project was in the Garden of Eden after man fell through the deception played out by the common enemy - Satan.

Cardinal purpose of the enemy was made clear as captured in John 10:10 - to kill, to steal and to destroy the works of God especially man.

By his entry into Jerusalem and the Temple, Jesus displayed his divine mission - to bring back sanity and sanctity to God's Temple. All these can be found in Matt 21, Mark 11, Luke 19.

According to theological presentation, God became man in order to lead man back unto Himself. As many as accepts His Love, he has opened a door of escape from this world of sin and shame into His marvelous light. Everlasting life is thus assured to as many as overcome to the very end.

The redemption of man indeed was not cheap though we all see it as free. Not free at all. It cost someone to step down from His divinity, out of eternity and into the limited restriction called lifetime of man.

He bled seriously, was laced with 39 heavy strokes, adorned with a crown of thorn that continuously gushed blood, he had to carry the weight of the cross and indeed the sins of men for all times, past; present and future, he was spat upon, he was nailed to the cross, pieced with spear, given vinegar to drink and scorned heavily.

Oh how much he suffered for man.

The redemption of man was indeed not cheap. The blood he shed on the cross of calvary is still flowing. Wow! Thisis really heavy.

Unfortunately, so many don't even see the need to respond to this great Love that the creator is extending to mankind.

My prayer indeed is that the great sacrifice that the Saviou had to make would not be in vain over our lives.

In the triumphant entry, many people who were residents of Jerusalem and even in the Temple did not know who Jesus was. People from the environs now became the introducers of whom Jesus was. Very Pathetic

After the Temple was cleansed, the atmosphere now became ready for the movement of God's divine hand. Little wonder miracles, healing, signs and wonders started to take place.

The greatest shock now became the anger of the supposed 'men of God' in the Temple at what the Lord started doing. This is a rude shock because they were expected to know the mission of the saviour but they too did not know Him hence their anger on this young carpenter who wants to bring a new order to their darkened system.

Man's redemption may look free but definitely not cheap, it costs dearly.
